Focus starts with less noise
Health library · Focus
Your brain processes far more information every second than you're ever consciously aware of. Attention is the filter that decides what gets through and it's not one system, but several working together: selective attention (picking out what matters from the noise), sustained attention (staying locked in over time), and task-switching (moving between things without losing your place).
How the mechanism works
L-theanine and guarana
L-theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves. Guarana is a natural source of caffeine. Caffeine contributes to increased alertness and to an improvement in concentration an established, EU-recognised function, achieved at an intake of 75 mg of caffeine (not recommended for children, or pregnant or breastfeeding women). L-theanine is often studied alongside caffeine; this research area is ongoing and does not currently support an EU-approved health claim.
Bacopa Monnieri
Bacopa Monnieri has a long history of traditional use and has been the subject of several systematic reviews of randomized, controlled human trials, most using doses of 300–450 mg extract per day over 8–12 weeks. This research area is still developing, and Bacopa does not currently have an EU-approved health claim.
Rhodiola Rosea and Panax Ginseng
Rhodiola Rosea and Panax Ginseng are botanicals studied in the context of mental fatigue. As with Bacopa, this research does not currently support an EU-approved health claim.
N-acetyl L-tyrosine and vitamin B6
N-acetyl L-tyrosine is a more soluble form of the amino acid tyrosine, a building block the body uses to produce certain neurotransmitters. Vitamin B6 contributes to normal psychological function and to the normal functioning of the nervous system — both established, EU-approved functions.
